Different ways to begin relationship work

Piha Couples Workshop

Couples Therapy & Counselling
Online & in Person

Do you and your partner feel like two ships passing in the night?

Do you argue about the same old stuff, and feel like you're living with a roommate instead of a lover?

Do you feel disconnected? Has one (or both) of you started to feel that this might not be the right relationship for you any longer?

Maybe the kids have become more important than your relationship, and you can't even remember when you had fun and a good laugh together?

Or maybe, your relationship has become entirely transactional, you are functioning as parents, but the spark is definitely missing.

Maybe one of you has had an affair or is thinking about having one, or your sexual life has become non-existent and you have started to wonder if the grass is greener somewhere else...

There are so many reasons a relationship can feel unsatisfying...

On average, couples seek help seven years AFTER their issues started. The longer you wait, the bigger the mess… but it is never too late to get back to a fulfilling, functional and love-filled relationship.

The main thing is to get started. Within our first session, I can help you turn your agony into hope, and create a solid plan of action.

It is important to seek out a counsellor or coach that specialises in COUPLES counselling. You would not ask your GP to perform open heart surgery on you, so you don't want to let a general counsellor work with your marriage or relationship.

I am here to help you and your relationship.

I am a relationship coach, counsellor and therapist, with over twenty years of experience specialising in the field of relationships and communication. I have trained and successfully counselled hundreds of couples and I am also a clinical supervisor for other counsellors, coaches and therapists.

With my guidance, you can reignite the passion in your relationship and create a strong, fulfilling connection with your partner. Don't wait any longer to start your journey towards a happier, healthier, emotionally and physically connected relationship.

I’ve got your back, let's do this!

Individual Therapy & Counselling
Online & in Person

Life can sometimes become overwhelming. You may find yourself facing relationship difficulties, emotional distress, life transitions, or patterns that feel hard to change. Individual therapy offers a confidential, respectful, and supportive space to pause, reflect, and move forward with greater clarity.

My work is grounded in high empathy, strict confidentiality, and a practical, action-based approach. While the therapeutic space is warm and person-centred, our work together is also focused on creating meaningful and tangible change. Many clients appreciate a short-term, focused style of therapy that combines insight with practical tools they can apply in everyday life.

I draw from several well-established therapeutic frameworks:

  • Person-Centred Therapy – offering a safe and respectful space where you can explore your experiences without judgement.

  • Internal Family Systems (IFS) – helping you understand and work with the different “parts” of yourself that influence your emotions and behaviour.

  • Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) – identifying and changing unhelpful thinking patterns and behaviours.

  • Imago- and Gottman informed relational thinking – understanding how earlier relationship experiences shape present reactions, expectations,

           and relational patterns.

  • This integrative approach allows us to work flexibly and effectively depending on what you need.

  • Areas we may work on together include:

  • Anxiety, stress, and emotional overwhelm

  • Relationship challenges and communication difficulties

  • Life transitions and decision-making

  • Patterns of self-doubt or self-criticism

  • Anger management and emotional self regulation

  • Empathy development and relational awareness, particularly for men who want to improve how they show up in their relationships

The goal of our work is not simply insight, but practical change that supports your wellbeing, resilience, and personal success.

If you are looking for thoughtful, compassionate, and effective support, I invite you to get in touch.

Professional Clinical Supervision
Online only

Professional supervision is a central part of ethical and effective therapeutic practice. For many years I have worked as a clinical supervisor with the New Zealand Association of Counsellors (NZAC), supporting counsellors in maintaining professional standards, reflective practice, and ongoing professional development. More recently, I have also begun supervising practitioners within the Imago Relationship Therapy community, supporting therapists who are integrating relational and couples-focused approaches into their work.

I offer both individual supervision and small group supervision groups. These spaces are designed to be thoughtful, reflective, and professionally thorough, while remaining supportive and encouraging.

Supervision is not simply about meeting professional requirements; it is about developing depth, confidence, and clarity in your work with clients.

Many of the professionals I supervise come with different goals. Some are provisional members of NZAC working toward full membership, and supervision plays an important role in strengthening their clinical competence and reflective capacity. Others are experienced therapists who want to deepen their therapeutic skills, explore complex cases, or refine their clinical approach.

I also regularly work with therapists and helping professionals from overseas who are exploring the process of working or immigrating to New Zealand. Supervision can be a valuable space to discuss local professional expectations, ethical frameworks, and clinical standards within the New Zealand context.

My supervision groups and individual sessions welcome a wide range of helping professionals, including counsellors, psychologists, social workers, and therapists from related fields. I particularly enjoy working with a culturally diverse range of supervisees, bringing different training backgrounds, perspectives, and therapeutic models into the conversation.

My role as a supervisor is to provide a space where practitioners can think deeply about their work, strengthen their clinical judgment, and grow their confidence as therapists. Supervision includes case reflection, ethical discussion, professional development, and support in navigating the challenges of therapeutic work.

If you are working in a helping profession and want to strengthen your clinical practice, I welcome you to get in touch. Supervision can be one of the most powerful ways to grow into the best therapist you can be and to build a thoughtful, sustainable professional practice.
